The Federal Way Community Caregiving Network’s Monday-night Community Suppers, which came close to ending entirely after their previous host building was sold, will now be held at 5:30 p.m. the Christian Faith Center (33645 20th Ave. S.).
“This is the best part of being a Councilmember: Being able, and knowing how, to serve my community,” said Federal Way City Councilmember Martin Moore. “I’ve been working like mad to help the Suppers’ organizers find a new home before their deadline, meeting with potential hosts, finding solutions to logistics issues, and lobbying for the importance of handling community challenges with community involvement.”
The suppers, which are open to everyone, serve up to 80 people each week.
“I’m so, so happy everything worked out,” Moore added. “It wasn’t a solo effort, of course — nothing ever is — so my deepest thanks to everyone who helped make this happen: Former Federal Way Deputy Mayor Hope Elder, CCN President (and former Federal Way Mayor) Jack Dovey, and of course, Pastor Casey Treat and all the great folks at Christian Faith Center.”
